Lille, from France, announced the signing of Belgian Thomas Meunier, this Friday. The right-back, who has played for Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, signed a two-year contract and will remain with the French team until June 2026.
“I’m very proud to be joining Lille. I’ve been very well received. From Belgium and elsewhere, I’ve only heard good things about the club. So yes, I’m very happy to be here. Lille was the perfect choice, from a sporting and family point of view. Its proximity to Belgium makes it feel like home. My Champions League experience will allow me to help the younger players and ensure they are 100% focused on the success of the club. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and the fans,” said Meunier.
LOSC is pleased to formalize the arrival of Thomas Meunier at the Dogues. The Belgian international, who has signed a two-year contract, will wear the Lille jersey until 2026.

Meunier had been playing for Trabzonspor in Turkey since the beginning of the year and unilaterally terminated his contract with the club last Tuesday. The player’s departure angered the Turkish team, which promised to take legal action against the Belgian.
Before playing in Turkish football, the 32-year-old right-back played for Borussia Dortmund in Germany between 2020 and 2023, and Paris Saint-Germain between 2016 and 2020. Meunier also played for Club Brugge and Excelsior Virton in Belgium.
The defender won three French Championship titles and the French Cup, as well as a German Cup. Meunier also played in two World Cups with the Belgian national team, in 2018 in Russia and 2022 in Qatar.
