When the temperature during the day has not dropped below 20 degrees for weeks, it is hard to resist putting a pool in the garden. It turns out that in many cases it can end with a ticket. Who should pay special attention to this? We explain everything.

A pool in the garden, or sometimes even on the balcony, is a really tempting option when the weather has been hot for weeks. Not everyone has the opportunity to go to a river or lake, so a home reservoir seems like the perfect solution. However, it seems that in many cases we may bitterly regret this decision.

Although the pool itself, set up in the garden, does not pose a particular threat, the circumstances may be a problem. When drought has been taking place in almost the entire country for many days, local authorities may introduce special restrictions related to water intake. We learn this from Article 31, Section 5 of the Water Law:

In the event of an announcement of a state of natural disaster, in order to prevent the effects of flood or drought, the voivode may, by means of an act of local law, introduce temporary restrictions on the use of water, in particular with regard to the abstraction of water or the discharge of sewage into waters or the ground, as well as changes to the method of managing water in retention reservoirs.

Before you grab the hose, do one thing. Otherwise, you might get your pocket

As we read in “Gazeta Prawna”, currently 125 municipalities in Poland are subject to such a restriction. A map showing the locations where appeals or prohibitions related to saving water are in force may be a clue. We can find it . However, the most reliable source of information is a personal visit to the municipal office, visiting its website and checking local media reports.
