IOC: No decision has been made on Russian participation in the 2024 Olympics closing ceremony
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) responded to a question about the participation of Russian athletes in the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris. RIA Novosti cites the organization’s press service.
The IOC said no decision had been made yet, and that it would be announced later.
Earlier it became known that Russians and Belarusians will not take part in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Games. The reason was the violation of the Olympic Charter by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
The Olympic Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status if they fulfill a number of conditions. 15 Russians will take part in the competition. Some athletes refused to participate in the tournament, despite receiving quotas and invitations from the IOC.
