It officially launched in April 2013, but only recently has it gained real popularity. It owes this primarily to the revolutionary changes in Telewizja Polska, specifically the changes carried out by the new management of the public broadcaster at the end of 2023 and at the beginning of 2024. At that time, almost all the leading presenters of the “old TVP” were brought under the wing of Tomasz Sakiewicz’s right-wing station, including, among others, Rafał Patyra and Michał Rachoń, who also attracted their fans.
TV Republika is now on MUX-8. The increase in viewership is visible to the naked eye
Recently, it has once again recorded a significant increase in viewership. This time, however, it is due to the fact that from July 12, 2024, its programs began to be broadcast on the eighth multiplex of digital terrestrial television, which significantly expanded its reach. Although it was already available on terrestrial television, but only on local and experimental multiplexes, so its access to a wide audience was limited. How many viewers currently watch the station’s programs?
According to the Wirtualne Media portal, citing data from Nielsen Media, an increase in viewership was observed after a day of broadcasting via MUX-8. In the first 5 days, i.e. from July 13 to 17, TV Republika’s market share was 4.22 percent, while the average viewership remained at 207 thousand viewers. This is a significant jump, especially since in the same period a week earlier, the station’s programs were watched by almost 50 thousand fewer people.

The statistics were influenced not only by broadcasting through the new multiplex, but also by important events from Poland and the world, which were broadcast live. These include the assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a pre-election rally and the arrest of Marcin Romanowski, former deputy minister of justice, by the Internal Security Agency. All this meant that on July 17, TV Republika achieved the best result in the station’s history, as much as 5.51% of the television market share.
