Okko returned the rights to two seasons of La Liga to Telesport for subsequent monetization
The Okko online cinema has assessed the transfer of rights to show the Spanish championship (La Liga) to the Match TV channel. The organization’s commentary is cited by RBC.
“As part of the ongoing legal proceedings with JSC Telesport and Petro Makarenko, Okko on July 8 returned the rights to the remaining upcoming two seasons of La Liga to JSC Telesport for subsequent monetization. In accordance with the concluded agreement, JSC Telesport is obliged to implement these rights by July 20,” the streaming service said. At the same time, the company declined to comment on the acquisition of rights by the Match TV channel.
Earlier, on July 18, Match TV announced that it would broadcast Spanish Championship matches for seven years starting from the 2024/2025 season. Before that, the tournament could be watched on Okko.
The new season of the Spanish championship starts on August 15. The league features Russian national team midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, who plays for Real Sociedad.
