FSBR Head Mamiashvili Did Not Confirm Postponement of Friendship Games
The President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF) Mikhail Mamiashvili did not confirm the postponement of the Friendship Games from 2024 to 2025. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“I have no information about the postponement of the World Friendship Games, which were planned for this year,” he said. The same statement was made by the head coach of the Russian national synchronized swimming team, Tatyana Pokrovskaya.

Earlier, on July 16, the head of the Russian Weightlifting Federation, Maxim Agapitov, announced the postponement of the tournament. He later added that, when speaking about the postponement, he relied on open sources.
The Friendship Games were scheduled for September 2024 and were to be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. The tournament was expected to include competitions in 33 summer Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
