Kwiat Jabłoni is currently one of the most popular in Poland, founded by siblings Katarzyna and Jacek Sienkiewicz in 2012. They have four studio albums under their belt, some of which have gone double platinum, others gold, as well as a dozen or so great ones, such as “Dzień tęję najlepsza”, “Byłominęła”, “Mogło być nic” or “Od nowa”. Now it turns out that not all of them make them proud.

The musicians from the band appeared in the premiere episode of the summer season of the podcast and Piotr Kędzierski, in which they talked, among other things, about how their career began. They agreed that they were not very happy with their start in the music industry. Kasia was the first to speak, explaining that she would like to improve some of the songs, especially those that appeared on the debut album. Her brother had a similar opinion on this matter. “I wouldn’t buy the first or second one,” Jacek said with disarming honesty, adding that there are some releases that he still admires. “But I would buy “Wolne serca”, a project from the Warsaw Uprising Museum, and I would also buy our third album, because I liked it a lot,” he announced.
After a moment of reflection, he announced that he probably won’t go back to his debut album, because he doesn’t like it at all at the moment and if he had a chance to do it all over again, he would do it completely differently. “I don’t like that first album and it was hard for me to listen to it,” he admitted, while emphasizing that the songs he wrote himself, such as “Nothing More,” are not consistent with the kind of person he is now. “First of all, my song “Nothing More,” which evokes such emotions in me… It seems childish to me, I don’t like how I sing there,” he said.

Fans certainly know that Kasia and Jacek are not the only artists in their family. Their father Kuba Sienkiewicz, who is the leader of the cult , is also involved in music. It is this mixture of different styles and genres that can be clearly heard in their songs. – It is visible in our songs, because on the one hand we have songs such as “Piosenka o słońca” or “Wody mi daj”, which are more reflective, and on the other hand we have “Wzięli Zamęli mi klub” or “Zasłem na prądu”, and these are rather stupid lyrics, and we like both – explained Jacek. In conclusion, he admitted that he and his sister secretly dream of becoming punks, but for now they do not have enough determination or courage to express this desire in their work. – We have not released it yet – concluded the vocalist.
