Former Corinthians player Carlos Miguel makes his debut as a starter in a friendly against Nottingham Forest

Former Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel has barely arrived in England and has already made his debut for Nottingham Forest. This Saturday, the player was a starter for the team in the friendly against Chesterfield, from the English fifth division.

The Brazilian goalkeeper kept a clean sheet and saw Nottingham win 3-0. Substituted in the final minutes of the game, he played alongside defender Murillo, a former Corinthians teammate, and midfielder Danilo, formerly of Palmeiras.

Carlos Miguel, 25, left Corinthians earlier this week. However, he had already signed with the English club in June.

The player became a regular at the club after Cássio left for Cruzeiro, but decided to go to Nottingham Forest, who agreed to pay the fine of 4 million euros (around R$23 million) to sign him permanently.

As a result, Corinthians were left without Cássio and Carlos Miguel and had to make moves in the market. The youngster from the youth team, Matheus Donelli, became a starter, but Timão also signed Hugo Souza, who belongs to Flamengo and signed with the team from Parque São Jorge until the end of the year, on loan, with an option to buy.

Meanwhile, Carlos Miguel will continue to take part in friendlies for Nottingham Forest before the team’s debut in the English Championship. In the first round, the team hosts Bournemouth, on August 17, at 11 am (BrasĂlia time).
