Coach Luis de la Fuentes announced on Saturday that Barcelona midfielder Gavi will be with the Spanish delegation in the Euro Cup final on Sunday. The player took part in all the qualifying matches for the tournament, but a knee injury has kept him off the pitch since last November.
“Tomorrow Gavi will be with us. He will spend the day with us and will be player number 27,” said the coach.
🗣️ Luis de la Fuente: “I want to thank both @Pedri like @AyozePG “for their work and involvement in this Euro Cup. Tomorrow they will not be able to play in the final due to injury.”

Gavi played in all eight games for Spain in the Euro qualifiers, starting seven of them. The 19-year-old midfielder was injured in the last match of the competition, on November 19 last year.
At the time, Spain, which had already qualified, faced Georgia and won 3-1. Gavi felt the injury in the first half. Soon after, Barcelona announced that the player had suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and an associated injury to the lateral meniscus, missing the rest of the season and being out of the Euro.
Spain and England will play the final of the European Championship this Sunday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany. The Spanish are looking for their fourth title, while the English are looking for their first win.
