Phil Foden urgently leaves the England squad in Germany due to a family problem

Striker Phil Foden, a starter for the English team at this European Championship, had to leave the team’s concentration in Germany due to a family problem. According to the English newspaper The Guardian, the 24-year-old player returned to England for a personal matter and is doubtful for the English game in the round of 16 of the tournament, scheduled for June 30th. The athlete’s wife is pregnant with their third child, but there is no official confirmation that this is the reason for the attacker’s emergency trip.

Foden started all three of the England team’s games at this European Championship. The player was even on the field for 89 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Slovenia, this Tuesday.

Due to the low productivity of the English attack, which only scored two goals in three matches in the group stage of the competition, coach Gareth Southgate was harshly criticized by the country’s media. Foden did not have outstanding performances and could leave the starting team.

England qualified for the Euro 16 as top of Group C with five points from three games. They will face one of the third-placed teams from Groups D, E or F.
