The other game in the group also takes place this Friday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), between France and the Netherlands. If the match ends in a draw, Poland will be eliminated.

The two teams return to the field next Tuesday, at 1 pm, for the last round of the Eurocup group stage. Poland faces France, at Signal Iduna Park, in Dortmund, while Austria duels against the Netherlands, at the Olympiastadion, in Berlin.

Austria opened the scoring after just eight minutes of play. In a play on the left side, Phillip Mwene crossed and Gernot Trauner headed the ball into the back of the net. The Poles tied the match after 30 minutes. Krzysztof Piatek took advantage of a deflection by the Austrian defense and saved.

In the second half, after a well-worked play from the defense, Alexander Prass found Christoph Baumgartner, who received the ball at the edge of the area and took it from the goalkeeper to give Austria the lead again, in the 21st minute.

From a penalty, Marko Arnautovic scored the Austrian team’s third, in the 33rd minute, and gave final results to the match.
