The Russian national team rose from 35th to 33rd place in the FIFA rankings

The Russian national team has moved up two positions in the International Football Federation (FIFA) rankings. The updated list of the best teams in the world is published on the organization’s website.

Valery Karpin’s team moved from 35th to 33rd place. Since the last publication of the rating, the Russians defeated the Belarusian national team (4:0) in a friendly match in Minsk.

The ranking continues to be led by the Argentina national team, followed by the French, and the top 3 is completed by Belgium. The English team was displaced from fourth place by the Brazilian team.

FIFA and UEFA suspended the Russian national football team from international competitions after the start of a special military operation on Ukrainian territory in early 2022. Since then, the Russians have only held friendly matches, which are taken into account when compiling the FIFA rankings.
