Leicester City would be in agreement with Welshman Steve Cooper to take over the team’s technical command, according to the Sky Sports English. Enzo Maresca, the coach who was a crucial part of the Foxes’ Second Division title last season, will be Chelsea’s new boss.
Steve Cooper, 44, has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest in December 2023. The team, at the time, had won just one in 13 matches played and was in 17th place in the Premier League.

Another coach who was also heavily tipped for the job at Leicester was former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter. The Foxes board preferred to sign Cooper after problems with both sides in negotiations with Potter.
In addition to coaching Nottingham Forest for just over two years, Steve Cooper was also coach of Swansea City – currently in the English Second Division. In addition, the Welshman has spent time with the England under-16 and under-17 teams, where he was champion of the under-17 World Cup in 2017.
