The Serbian Football Association confirmed that midfielder Filip Kostic is out of the remainder of the European Championship, this Wednesday. The player underwent tests and had an injury detected in his left knee, suffered during the match against England, last Sunday.
“In the 43rd minute of the match against England, Filip Kostic had to leave the game due to an injury. After an MRI on his left knee, a partial injury to the external collateral ligament was found. Regarding the nature of the injury, a period of recovery period of around two weeks. After the game against Slovenia, Kostic will leave the Serbian national team’s base in Germany! wrote the Serbian Football Association on social media.

Serbia ended up being defeated by England by a score of 1-0 and will now look to recover in the competition. The team is at the bottom of group C, which is led by the English, with three points, and also has Denmark and Slovenia, with one point each.
