Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will play at the Olympic Games in Paris
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This was reported on the website of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Serbia.
The 37-year-old Djokovic is currently ranked third in the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings. The upcoming Olympics will be the Serb’s fourth in his career. His only medal remains a bronze in singles at the 2008 Beijing Games.
Djokovic was forced to withdraw from Roland Garros 2024 due to a torn meniscus. The Serbian later underwent surgery and it was reported that he plans to recover for the Olympics, which start on July 26.
On June 17, the third world racket, Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, announced that she would miss the Olympics in Paris. According to her, she was forced to do this due to the requirements of the Women’s Tennis Association, which prohibit missing a large number of tournaments. Given the difficult calendar, the athlete decided to take care of her health.
