The Georgian national team scored the first goal at the European Football Championship in its history. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The author of the team’s first goal at Euro 2024 was striker Georges Mikautadze. In the 32nd minute of the meeting with the Turkish team, he closed in Georgiy Kochorashvili’s cross.

Before the match, Georgian and Turkish fans started a fight at the Signal Iduna Park stadium, which is hosting the game. Footage published online shows fans of the two teams fighting on the border of the arena sectors. They also throw foreign objects at each other.
The Georgian national team is the only debutant of the current European Championship. The team, led by French coach Willy Sagnol, plays in Group F, where its opponents, in addition to the Turks, will be the national teams of Portugal and the Czech Republic.
Euro 2024 takes place in ten cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14.
