The IOC announced June 20 as the last date for submitting applications for Russian participation in the Olympics
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has set a deadline for applying for the Olympics for Russians in neutral status. President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili told Match TV about this.
“Let’s see what kind of pieces of paper the IOC sent us. Tomorrow we have the executive committee. The deadline is June 20, we will have a day to make a final decision,” Mamiashvili said.
According to Match TV, representatives of the Russian Cycling Federation (FVSR) also received a letter from the IOC notifying that June 20 is the last day for submitting applications for athletes who have received neutral status. To obtain it, athletes had to meet a number of requirements. This includes not declaring support for the SVO and not being associated with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia.
Earlier, the IOC published a list of 14 Russians admitted to the 2024 Summer Games in Paris in neutral status. The list includes ten representatives of wrestling, including Shamil Mamedov and Arslan Bagaev, cyclists Tamara Dronova, Alena Ivanchenko, Alexander Vlasov, as well as Angela Bladtseva, who represents trampolining.
