The goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Lunin apologized after the devastating defeat from Romania

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Andrey Lunin commented on the devastating defeat from the Romanian team in the first round match of the Euro 2024 group stage. His words are quoted by Sport.ua.

“I want to apologize. We will continue to prepare and hopefully we will be able to correct the situation. Rebrov (head coach of the Ukrainian national team, – approx. “Tapes.ru”) told us that nothing has been finalized yet. We need to prepare for the next match,” Lunin said.

In the next match, the Ukrainians will play against the Slovak team. The meeting will take place in Dusseldorf on June 21.

The match between the national teams of Romania and Ukraine took place in Munich earlier on June 17 and ended in the defeat of Rebrov’s team with a score of 0:3. The Romanians scored one of their goals after a mistake by Lunin, who unsuccessfully kicked the ball out.

Euro 2024 takes place in ten cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14. The Russian national team misses the tournament due to suspension by the Union of European Football Associations.
