The Romanian national team defeated Ukraine in the first round match of the group stage of the European Football Championship (Euro 2024). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The Group E meeting took place at the Allianz Arena in Munich and ended with a Romanian victory with a score of 3:0. The goals were scored by Nicolae Stanciu (29th minute), Razvan Marin (53rd minute) and Denis Dragus (57th minute).
In addition to Ukraine and Romania, Group E includes the national teams of Belgium and Slovakia. These teams will play each other later on June 17.
Earlier it was reported that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) banned the bringing of Russian flags to the match between Ukraine and Romania. Stadium security staff had to take away tricolors from fans wishing to attend the game.
Euro 2024 takes place in ten cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14. The Russian national team misses the tournament due to suspension by UEFA.
