After almost three months, FIFA released this Friday morning the update of its world ranking of women’s football. The positive point is that the Brazilian team gained a position and now appears in ninth place.
The update comes after Brazil beat Jamaica 4-0 on two occasions. The two friendlies were the team’s last commitments before their debut at the Paris Olympic Games. In the competition, the team appears in Group C, alongside Japan, Spain and Nigeria.
Of these three teams, two appear ahead of Brazil in the ranking. While Japan occupies seventh place, Spain is first.
In the new update, France also moved up in place, taking second place and reaching its best record in history. On the other hand, the United States and England lost one position each.
