In search of reinforcements for next season, Newcastle, from England, made a proposal to count on striker Ferran Torres, who plays for Barcelona, as reported by the Spanish channel Jijantes, this Wednesday.
The English clubs’ proposal to take the player from Barcelona, where he has a contract until 2027, would be approximately R$86 million, with a further R$28 million in variables, according to the channel.
Newcastle are looking to repatriate Ferran Torres, who already has experience playing in English football. The striker played for Manchester City between 2020 and 2022, before moving to Barcelona for around R$315 million fixed, plus R$57 million in variables.
The Catalan club would have already paid approximately R$143 million of the total it owes to Pep Guardiola’s team, so Newcastle’s proposal does not cover the entire remaining amount.

Ferran Torres, who will compete in the European Championship with the Spanish national team, played 42 games with Barcelona last season, starting just 20 times. Even so, he scored 11 goals and distributed three assists, being the club’s third highest scorer in the period.
In total, he played for Barça in 113 matches, scoring 25 goals and making 12 passes.
