How to get rid of pigeons from the balcony? Some methods are more humane, others less so. We do not approve of bird poisoning. We know how big a problem they can be, but we strongly support treating them “humanely”, i.e. using scares. Some people praise the most natural option, i.e. hiring a cat, which can discourage pigeons from hanging out even through a window or balcony door. However, it is irresponsible to adopt a cat just to scare away birds from the balcony. So what else can we do?
Pigeons on the balcony are a nightmare. How to deal with them?
Pigeons on the balcony can be discouraged using accessories available in stores, e.g. spikes. However, these may also pose a threat to household members, especially children. Some people place artificial crows on the balustrades to scare away pigeons. However, these solutions require a special order online or a visit to a gardening or construction store.

Methods for killing pigeons, which are tried quite often, include scents. These birds do not like intense aromas, so we can regularly wipe the balustrades and floors, e.g. with a mixture of water, a few drops of essential oil and a bit of dish soap (then we will also have a clean balcony). Some people also use vinegar.
A way to deal with pigeons? Something from the pharmacy will help
How to scare away pigeons from the balcony without much effort and expense? Many birds, including pigeons, do not like when something reflects light. Therefore, any shiny objects will work perfectly as scarecrow. Some people use aluminum foil for this purpose, others choose a slightly more durable solution, such as a thermal blanket. You can buy it at any pharmacy for less than PLN 5. Just cut it into strips and tie them in different places on the balcony, or you can make pompoms out of them. Pigeons will not be encouraged to visit us. Other ways to control pigeons include hanging balloons or, requiring a bit more work and money, netting balconies.
