The injury occurred during the friendly between Poland and Türkiye, held last Monday. Feeling pain, the Barcelona center forward had to be replaced in the 33rd minute of the first half.
In addition to Lewandowski, the medical situations of Pawel Dawidowicz and Karol Swiderski were also updated. While the first suffered a quadriceps muscle strain, the other had an ankle sprain “without significant damage”.
Jacek Jaroszewsk said that after treatment, both athletes should return to full training within three to four days.
The clash between Poland and the Netherlands is scheduled for next Sunday, at 10 am (Brasília time), at the Volkspark Stadium. Group D still includes Austria and France.
