Former UFC champion Cyborg said that Makhachev is not known in the USA
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Cris Cyborg compared the popularity of Russians Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev in the United States. She spoke about this in a conversation with James Lynch, the recording of which is available on her YouTube channel.
Cyborg said that Makhachev is still not very well known in the United States, so to increase his popularity it is important for him to fight with opponents such as Dustin Poirier. “We know Khabib because he fought Conor McGregor. I hope Islam will now start fighting with big stars to increase awareness,” she concluded.
