The tragic story of 27-year-old Anastazja shocked not only Poland. Foreign media also alerted about the macabre crime of which the young woman from Wrocław fell victim. The woman worked in one of the hotel restaurants on the Greek island of Kos, where she lived with her boyfriend.
The couple was supposed to save the money they earned during the summer season on a tourist island in order to start a new chapter after returning to Poland. Unfortunately, on June 12, 2023, the 27-year-old disappeared. Anastazja’s distraught partner reported the disappearance to the police.

The search for the Polish woman lasted less than a week. Her body was found on June 18, in a wetland under a tree in Alykes, near Tigaki. She was naked and wrapped in a sheet, and the perpetrator placed her in a garbage bag. Then he covered the body with branches. A year will have passed since these dramatic events on Wednesday. “Fakt” contacted the family of the murdered Polish woman. The journalists talked, among others: with the young woman’s father, who confessed that the whole family is still struggling with enormous trauma.

– said Mr. Andrzej in an interview with “Fakt”.
He also added that everyone “feels sorry for themselves and feels guilty.” – That we didn’t protect her, we didn’t save her and we didn’t prepare her well for her adult life. Maybe she shouldn’t have been allowed to do so much, maybe she should have been kept in Poland and taken away her passport so that she wouldn’t go anywhere. You will blame yourself for this for the rest of your life, he confessed.

After Anastazja’s body was found on June 18, 2023, the police initiated an intensified search for the perpetrator. It was established that the 27-year-old was first drugged and abducted, and later raped and murdered. The suspect turned out to be a 32-year-old from Bangladesh, Salahuddin S. He was the last person to see the Polish woman alive.
In his apartment, the police found a bloody T-shirt, a lock of hair and secured traces of the Wrocław resident’s DNA. It turned out that he planned to escape from Greece to Italy. Airline tickets were also found in his apartment. The 32-year-old admitted to raping the 27-year-old while she was unconscious. The man is in prison and does not confess to the murder of Anastasia.
Before losing consciousness, the girl managed to send an alarming text message to her partner. City surveillance cameras registered the fact that the woman was in S’s apartment that night. Her body was less than a kilometer from the 32-year-old’s place of residence.
