Eunate Arraiza ends his career in Athletic, as reported by the club this Tuesday. The Navarrese player has completed 12 seasons in the first team, which she joined from Lagunak in 2012. She debuted at the age of 20, under the command of Juanlu Fuentes and has come to play 311 matchesbecoming seventh in the historical ranking of red-and-white players, with 19 goals.

In 2015-2016, she became league champion in one season with the team led by Joseba Aguirre. In 2017, she played in the tie against Fortuna Hjorring in the Champions League, and that same year, she made her debut as a senior international for the Spanish team in an official match against Israel.

As a child, the Navarrese player was detected to have a severe hearing disability. Thanks to her speech therapy, the lioness learned to speak, read and write. Under the #EqualGame campaign, UEFA distinguished the Navarrese in 2018 as an “example of how football promotes inclusion, accessibility and diversity.” Eunate’s fight has been an example in the Athletic Club to show that, in her case, her deafness did not prevent her from playing soccer. Last March, she was proclaimed World Champion with the Spanish deaf indoor soccer team.
