Gavi was injured for the Spanish national team. On November 19 last year, in a European Championship qualifier against Georgia, the midfielder tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Automatically, the young man became a certain absence from Barcelona for the remainder of the season and has not played since.
Before becoming absent, Gavi was a key player in Barcelona’s starting lineup. However, this season, he was on the field just 15 times, scored two goals and provided one assist.
Gavi became a professional in 2021, with Ronald Koeman as coach. Since then, the Spaniard has secured his place in the Catalan squad and has become one of the club’s biggest promises. For Barcelona, the 19-year-old has accumulated 111 appearances, seven goals and 14 assists.
