Left-back Andrew Robertson spoke this Tuesday about Liverpool’s new coach, Arne Slot, formerly of Feyenoord, who arrives to replace Jurgen Klopp. The Scottish athlete reported that he has not yet spoken to the Dutch coach, but is excited to work with him.
“I haven’t spoken to him yet. I think he’s leaving us to focus on the Euros. It’s an exciting new challenge. Obviously the old era was very special and I have a lot to be thankful for for this coach (Klopp), but I’m excited now about the arrival of the new coach — new ideas, new voice — and I’m very excited about what can come with that,” he told Sky Sports.
Robertson is preparing to compete in the European Championship for Scotland. The competition will be held between June 14th and July 14th, in Germany.
Despite the change in command, the defender believes that Liverpool can continue to compete for major titles.
“I have no doubt we can maintain this momentum. From all the reports we’ve received, the coach is very good and I can’t wait to see it up close.”
Replacing Jurgen Klopp will not be an easy task for Arne Slot. The German coach left Liverpool after nine seasons and became an idol of the team. His main titles at the club were: Champions League, English Championship, World Cup and FA Cup.
