The new owner of Inter Milan, the American investment fund Oaktree, opted for continuity by appointing manager Giuseppe Marotta as the club’s new president this Tuesday (4).
Marotta was until now Inter’s sports administrator and succeeds the Chinese Steven Zhang, son of the owner of the Suning consortium, who had to cede control of the club to Oaktree after being unable to pay a loan he requested in 2021 from the American fund.
“This appointment is a recognition of the fantastic work carried out by several people over the last three years,” said Marotta in the Inter statement.
