Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev was eliminated from Roland Garros, losing to Australian Alex de Minaur in the 1/8 finals. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting ended in four sets with a score of 4:6, 6:2, 6:1, 6:3 in favor of the Russian opponent. The athletes spent 2 hours 49 minutes on the court.

In the quarter-finals, de Minaur will play the winner of the match between Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Denmark’s Holger Rune. Their meeting is scheduled for June 3 at 21:15 Moscow time.

Medvedev was the last Russian to continue competing in the men’s singles tournament. His best result at the French Open is reaching the quarterfinals in 2021.

28-year-old Medvedev is the first racket of Russia. He ranks fifth in the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings.
