Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko named the number of countries that have confirmed their participation in the BRICS Games, which will be held in Kazan. His words are quoted by TASS.
According to him, there are 97 such states. “The upcoming competitions must be held at the highest level. Kazan has extensive experience in organizing international sporting events,” Chernyshenko said.
Earlier, the government of the Russian Federation prepared a draft resolution on the amount of prize money for representatives of the country who will become winners and prize-winners of the BRICS Games. For the gold medal, a payment of 358.4 thousand rubles is provided. Silver medalists will receive 179.2 thousand rubles, and bronze medalists – 107.5 thousand.
The BRICS Games will be held in Kazan from June 12 to 23. A total of 392 sets of medals will be awarded in 29 sports.
