Another pair of Russian figure skaters – Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin – wanted to change their sports citizenship. Match TV became aware of this.

According to the source, the decision on the removal of the pair will be made by the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) in the winter. The priority country for athletes is Armenia.

Akopova, 20, and Rakhmanin, 25, are training in Sochi under the guidance of Olympic champion Fedor Klimov. They are silver medalists at the Russian Cup stage.

Earlier it became known that the FFKKR assigned 15-year-old student of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko Sofya Titova for further transfer to the Armenian national team. In addition, the FFKKR allowed the single skater Sofya Samodelkina, the sports couple Ekaterina Geinish – Dmitry Chigirev, and ice dancing performer Annabel Morozov to change their sports citizenship. They will move to the national teams of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the USA, respectively.
