“Match TV”: Russian figure skater Sofya Titova will join the Armenian national team
Russian figure skater Sofya Titova will change her sports citizenship. Match TV became aware of this.
According to the source, the 15-year-old athlete will join the Armenian national team. It is noted that she has already received an exemption from the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
Titova is a student of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko. The figure skater won stages of the Russian Youth Grand Prix and was a medalist at the Moscow Championship.
Earlier it was reported that the FFKKR allowed the single skater Sofya Samodelkina, the sports couple Ekaterina Geinish – Dmitry Chigirev, and ice dancing performer Annabel Morozov to change their sports citizenship. They will move to the national teams of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the USA, respectively.
Russian figure skaters were banned from competing in tournaments under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) in March 2022. The last major start for domestic athletes was the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
