Former goalkeeper of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national football team, Alexander Filimonov, assessed the chances of Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to win a place in the first team of Parisian PSG. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
The ex-player allowed such a development of events. “Nothing is impossible. Some force majeure situations are also possible – injuries, disqualifications. If a chance arises, we must take advantage of it,” Filimonov said.
The Russian added that his compatriot corresponds to the level of PSG and recommended that he try his hand abroad. “In our championship, he is visible, in a leading position, the goalkeeper of the national team,” said Filimonov.
On May 25, it was reported that Safonov was close to moving to PSG. It was clarified that the clubs had reached a final agreement. In the coming days, the 25-year-old football player will undergo a medical examination, after which he will sign a five-year contract with the French.
