Manchester United must fire Ten Hag regardless of FA Cup title, says newspaper

Manchester United will fire coach Erik Ten Hag even if they win the FA Cup, according to the newspaper The Guardian. The Red Devils face Manchester City in the final, which will be held this Saturday, at 11am (Brasília time), at Wembley.

The Dutch coach took over the team in 2022 and has not yet presented football that convinces the fans. In the current season, the team finished the English Championship in eighth place, the worst position since 1990. Therefore, the club’s only chance of qualifying for the Europa League is if they win the national cup.

In 2023/24, Manchester United played 51 games, won 24, drew eight and lost 19. In total, 86 goals were scored and 84 conceded.

Since arriving at the club, Erik Ten Hag has won an FA Cup and had his best Premier League performance last season, when he finished in third place.

According to the The GuardianThomas Tuchel (ex-Bayern Munich), Mauricio Pochettino (ex-Chelsea), Kieran McKenna (from Ipswich Town), Graham Potter (ex-Chelsea) and Thomas Frank (from Brentford) appear as possible replacements.
