World Boxing Champion Coach Offered To Work As Bus Driver

Honored boxing trainer of the Russian Federation Vladimir Roschenko was offered to work as a bus driver in Chelyabinsk. This is reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.

69-year-old Roshchenko, whose coaching experience is 50 years, was laid off. He was told that from February he would not be able to train the national team of the Chelyabinsk region. As an alternative, the coach was offered a job as a bus driver with a salary of 34 thousand rubles a month.

The Ministry of Sports of the region claims that young coaches are needed to form a new concept of training athletes. Roschenko does not agree with the position of the leadership. He came to Moscow to meet with representatives of the Russian Boxing Federation to challenge the decision.

Roschenko has brought up several titled boxers. Among them are world champion Sergei Kovalev, European champion Eduard Abzalimov, Russian champion Ilfat Razyapov and others.
