The flower of the Guayacanes began to fall from the afternoon of this Thursday. In Mangahúrco, a parish of the Zapotillo canton, Loja province, another spectacle of nature is experienced, after the flowering of the Guayacanes that began to take place last weekend.

In this vast plain, a yellow mantle has been formed, made up of the guayacán flower, and the scene has once again brought together hundreds of tourists from different parts of the country.

According to the inhabitants of Mangahúrco, the show would last until Saturday, before the flower fades.

In Zapotillo, social, cultural and tourism activities were programmed focused on boosting the economy of the sector. This is how the tourists who come to observe the flowering of the Guayacanes have been received.

Around 40,000 hectares of dry forest wear yellow in the area to provide a unique show in the region. The residents and inhabitants expected to receive no less than 5,000 people, taking into account the restrictions and capacity, that is, half of what arrived in years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
