Playmaker Kylian Mbappé was absent from Paris Saint-Germain for the match against Metz this Sunday, in the French Championship, due to muscle problems. However, the striker was seen at a party in Cannes, in the south of France, with his partner Ousmane Dembélé. Coach Luis Enrique spoke about what happened after this weekend’s game.
“The six players who were not called up for today’s match have complete freedom to do what they want and go wherever they want, to disconnect,” said Luis Enrique in an interview with Canal +.
Against Metz, Luis Enrique rested some other players, such as Marquinhos, Donnarumma and Vitinha. In recent days, Mbappé was not listed by the coach for some Paris Saint-Germain commitments due to muscle problems, however, the athletes’ presence in Cannes raised doubts about his real situation.
“I count on all the players. Some played, some didn’t, some were left off the list. Throughout the week we will be able to see who is most prepared, who is most eager, who intends to play (in the final),” said Luis Enrique.
Mbappé’s presence in the French Cup final against Lyon is uncertain, as the striker has not had minutes in Luis Enrique’s team in recent matches. The decision is next Saturday (25), at 4pm (Brasília time).
