Two-time Olympic champion in figure skating Evgeni Plushenko spoke about the complex surgery he underwent on his spine. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The former athlete said that he was operated on three months ago. The operation lasted five hours. As a result, Plushenko had a structure replaced on his lower spine.
Plushenko’s operation became known on April 27. Then he thanked his attending physician Dmitry Dzukaev.
Plushenko holds the record for the most Olympic medals in figure skating: he has four Games medals. In addition to two gold medals, he won two silver medals. In addition, the skater is a three-time world champion and seven-time European champion.
