Tarasova reacted to the possible transition of Russian figure skaters to the USA

Tarasova called the possible transition of figure skaters Morozov and Eremenko to the USA a loss

It would be bad news for Russian sports if the Russian dance couple Annabelle Morozov and Igor Eremenko moved to the US team, said honored figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, she commented on reports about a possible change of sports citizenship by figure skaters.

“I generally don’t like unofficial information, because unofficial information is unverified. But I will be sorry if they go to the US team. They are a talented couple, they could represent our Motherland, and represent it with dignity. (…) Of course, everyone is thinking about this (change of sports citizenship – approx. “Tapes.ru”), this is clear, it would be ridiculous to say that no one thinks about it,” she said.

According to Tatyana Tarasova, the departure of Morozov and Eremenko will be a loss for Russian sports. She believes that these athletes can have a great future if we work with them correctly.

The RIA Novosti agency reported the possible transfer of skaters to the American team, citing a source. Morozov has Russian, American and French citizenship. At the same time, it is legally easier to formalize a transfer to the United States than to France, where athletes previously gathered, the material says.
