Striker Mario Balotelli revealed this Sunday, in conversation with former Argentine player Kun Aguero, that he would like to play for Boca Juniors. The 33-year-old Italian will have his contract with Adana Demirspor, in Turkey, ending in June this year and will be free on the market.
“My dream is to play in La Bombonera,” said Balotelli during a broadcast on Star+ of Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium, in the last round of the English Championship, which guaranteed the title for the team led by Pep Guardiola.
Then Aguero replied: “Boca would suit you very well.”
Soon after, the Argentine asked if he preferred Boca to River and the Italian said yes. Because of this, Aguero said he would have to call Riquelme, idol and current president of the Xeneize team.
“Ah, of course, if your dream is to play for La Bombonera, well, Román would have to call you,” he said. “It would be spectacular. Playing in Argentine football would be top,” he concluded.
Balotelli also asked Aguero if he would do well in Argentine football and the top scorer in Manchester City’s history responded positively.
“Yes, I think because of your style of play, it would suit you very well. And besides, if your dream is to play there, even better. People will love you because it’s something you’re saying, that you want go to Boca.”
In the current season, Balotelli played 16 games for Adana Demirspor, scored seven goals and provided one assist.
