Won, then 48th place. Complete isolation of the star. “I’m absent for everyone”

Halvor Egner Granerud is doing chimerically this season in the World Cup. Three times he was in the top three of the competition, but also once did not qualify for the best “30” and only took 48th place. Not only that, he did not even qualify for the competition series twice! The Norwegian has 361 points and is third overall. He is followed by German Karl Geiger (594 points) and Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi (496 points).

Granerud needs silence

Granerud decided that he would not talk to journalists any time soon.

– I want to enjoy Christmas with my loved one, without feeling like I have to answer various questions, that I have to write messages or plan when I can do an interview. Talking to journalists, both face-to-face and over the phone, is tiring and time-consuming, with everyone asking the same questions. So I decided to cut myself off from the world and spend Christmas in a small family circle. I will also not be active in social media, unless I suddenly feel like it – said Granerud in the daily “Dagbladet”

The Norwegian is constantly looking for the cause of the uneven form.

– It’s an extra burden to have to find out what’s going on with my jumps. Why can I win a practice series and then finish 48th? Something’s wrong, and it’s not just technology. So I have to clean and reset my head and for that I need to be completely isolated, Granerud added.

In an interview with the “Budstikka” newspaper, he admitted that this season he does not feel as under the pressure as a year ago.

“Back then, all of Norway was expecting a victory, or at least a podium finish, and now I feel like an outsider and I’m fine with that,” said Granerud.
