Kafelnikov, after the demands of the Kaluga residents, said that he was not going to the tournament in the city
Russian tennis player, 2000 Olympic champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov responded to the reluctance of residents of the Kaluga region to let him into the children’s tennis tournament. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, the athlete said that he was not going to the region.
“Generally speaking, I’m not going to Kaluga,” Kafelnikov commented.
Previously, Kafelnikov was called an enemy of the people and called for to be excluded from the list of invited guests for a children’s tournament in Kaluga. The complaint from the parents of the participants draws attention to Kafelnikov’s publications, in which he spoke out in favor of imposing sanctions against Russia, spoke about the slave consciousness of the Russian people, and opposed the conduct of a special military operation (SVO).
Residents of the Kaluga region turned to social activists from the “Call of the People” movement with a request to help protect their children from Kafelnikov. They, in turn, sent a request to the head of the region, Vladislav Shapsha.
