In a six-goal game, Liverpool concedes a draw to Aston Villa in the English Championship

In a match valid for the 37th round of the English Championship, Aston Villa hosted Liverpool this Monday and drew 3-3. Emiliano Martínez (own goal), Gakpo and Quansah scored the goals for the visiting team, while Tielemans and Durán (2) wrote it down for those who sent it.

Currently in third place, Liverpool has 79 points gained, six less than Manchester City, second in the standings. Aston Villa, in turn, reached 68 points, in fourth place.

Liverpool’s next clash takes place on Sunday, at 12pm (Brasília time), at Anfield, against Wolverhampton. At the same time, Aston Villa faces Crystal Palace, at Selhurst Park Stadium, in the same tournament.

Liverpool opened the scoring just 2 minutes into the opening half. After Elliot’s cross from the right wing, Emiliano Martínez, goalkeeper for the Argentine national team, lost time with the ball, got in trouble and threw it into his own goal.

Aston Villa’s response came in the 12th minute of the first half, when Watkins dribbled past two markers on the baseline, entered the area and rolled the ball to Tielemans, who received it alone and hit a cross, off Alisson’s counter, to tie the match.

The visiting team regained the advantage with Gakpo, in the 23rd minute of the first stage. Joe Gomez, after receiving a pass from Luis Díaz on the left wing, crossed low into the small area and found the Dutch striker, who, unmarked, increased the score.

Liverpool added the third at 3 minutes into the second half. After a free kick from Elliot, defender Quansah went up to the second post to head the ball past Martínez and score.

Aston Villa managed to score their second goal of the match in the 40th minute of the second half. Mac Allister lost the ball to Durán, who cut the marker on the edge of the area and crossed the ball with his left-hander.

The home team’s equalizer came at 43 minutes into the second half, again with Durán. The striker, without intention, deflected a shot that came from Diaby, from the edge of the area, and covered Alisson.
