Guberniev: smart and strong people don’t refuse the Olympics, a note for swimmers

Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev in his Telegram channel made fun of swimmers who refused to go to the Olympic Games.

Guberniev supported the kayakers and canoeists from Russia who will take part in the selection for the Olympics, calling them a great team. “The smart and strong don’t refuse the Olympic Games! Swimmers take note,” he added.

Previously, some Russian swimmers refused to travel to the 2024 Olympics due to their reluctance to receive neutral status. Among them are Kliment Kolesnikov, Andrey Minakov, Evgeny Rylov and Evgenia Chikunova. Only Yulia Efimova announced possible participation in the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status.
