British newspaper highlights Manchester United squad overhaul for next season

After another disappointing campaign, Manchester United will promote a major overhaul of its squad for next season, as reported this Tuesday by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

According to the vehicle, the English club will be willing to negotiate even its main stars, such as striker Marcus Rashford and midfielder Bruno Fernandes. Brazilians Casemiro and Anthony could also leave the team.

Young Alejandro Garnacho, 19, Rasmus Hojlund, 21, and Kobbie Mainoo, also 19, are the only untouchable players in the Manchester United squad and will not be traded.

This reformulation arises from a need to balance the club’s accounts. United invested around R$2.7 billion in the last three transfer windows and achieved no results on the field.

Jim Ratcliffe, owner of the club, will adopt a policy of ultra-flexibility in negotiations, according to the newspaper. The owner’s objective is to be able to negotiate as many athletes as possible and also reduce the team’s salaries by 25%, to comply with the rules of the Fair Play Premier League finance.

The team occupies 6th place in the English Championship, with 54 points. With four games remaining in the competition, Manchester United no longer has a chance of securing a place in the next edition of the Champions League.
