Russian youth hockey team scored 12 goals against Kazakhstan at the Future Cup
The Russian youth hockey team defeated their peers from Kazakhstan at the Future Cup tournament. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The meeting took place on Friday, April 26, in Novosibirsk, and ended with a score of 12:0 in favor of the Russians. Among the winners, Mikhail Ilyin and Egor Solovyov scored doubles, the remaining eight goals were scored by different hockey players. Both teams were composed of players under 20 years of age.
After two meetings at the tournament, the Russian youth team leads the standings with four points. In the opening match, Nikolai Voevodin’s team defeated the Student Hockey League team with a score of 8:1. In the final match of the Future Cup, the Russians will play with Belarus on April 28.
On February 13, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) extended the suspension of the Russian and Belarus national teams for the 2024/2025 season. Teams from countries of all ages will not compete in tournaments under the auspices of the organization from the spring of 2022.
