Thibau Nys takes the stage victory and the lead from a great escape in the Tour de Romandie

The Belgian cyclist Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek) starred this Thursday in the second stage of the 77th edition of the Tour de Romandie disputed between Freiburg and Les Marécottes (Salvan) over 172 kilometers to win the victory and become the leader of the general classification.

Only the Belgian and the Italian Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) endured the demanding last climb.
Between the two of them and the Australian Luke Plapp (Ineos-Grenadiers), who also caught up with them, surviving the seven-kilometer climb with which the stage ended, took the sprint. The French runner Dorian Godonfrom Decathlon AG2R, who had won the first round on Wednesday, gave up his chances of defending the lead three kilometers from the finish line.
