Every time I hear about a lavish wedding on which someone spends hundreds of thousands of zlotys, I get chills. So I decided to share my story because maybe at least one person will think twice before deciding to take out a loan for something like a wedding. I made this mistake myself and took out a loan to organize my daughter’s dream wedding.
Where did my mind go then?! I do not know. I knew full well that I couldn’t afford it. But what you don’t do for your children, right? It would be half the trouble if they were still happily married, but no… I hadn’t even managed to repay half of the debt when I heard: Mom, I’m getting a divorce. I remember that my legs gave way under me, I thought to myself “what was all this for?”
I never had any money, so a loan of several dozen thousand was a really big burden for me. In fact, for the next few years I refused to even take a short vacation to the Polish seaside just to get rid of this loan as quickly as possible.

I know that “a wise Pole after the damage”, but in my opinion it is also worth learning from other people’s mistakes. Now whenever someone talks about any wedding loan, I immediately quote my story about how I finally got rid of the debt for my daughter’s first wedding when she already had her second husband. I advise everyone to first ask themselves a direct question: is it really worth taking out a wedding loan? Is one night of fun really worth it?
