Coach Bivola said that the Russian mafia in the USA wanted to supervise his students
Gennady Mashyanov, coach of the World Boxing Association (WBA Super) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, spoke about the offer made to him by representatives of the Russian mafia in the United States. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
According to him, certain people offered to supervise his students and help in exchange for a percentage of contracts. “We did not agree and disagreed,” Mashyanov noted.
The specialist added that after this he spoke with serious people from the Russian diaspora in Brighton Beach. “These people said: ‘Gennady Yuryevich, calm down, we’ll tear off their ears,’” the coach said.
On April 15, it became known that Bivol will fight with compatriot Artur Beterbiev on June 1 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The winner will become the undisputed light heavyweight world champion.
